imageKARACHI: Four ships C.V Express Kailash, C.V Al- Hadbaa, M.T Cao Cheng-3 and M.T Karachi carrying containers, 17,000 tonnes palm oil and 69,523 tonnes furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile, two more ships M.T Chemroad Lily and M.T Optimus with containers, phosphoric acid and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was recorded on higher side at the port at eighty percent on Sunday where a total of twelve ships namely, C.V Express Kailash, C.V Al-Hadbaa, C.V Iomoko, C.V Safmarine Nyassa, M.V Diamond Sun, M.V SVG Dream, M.V Alam Mutiara, M.V Tian Shou, M.V Ikan Bawal, M.T Umm Bab, M.T Gao Cheng-3 and M.T Karachi were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, coal, project cargo, soya bean seeds, LNG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 145,080 tonnes comprising 114,512 tonnes imports and 30,568 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,579 containers (TEUs)(2,119 TEUs imports & 1,460 TEUs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Two ships, LNG carrier Umm Bab and containers ships C.V Express Kailash, C.V Tomoko, C.V Safmarine Nyassa and M.V Alam Mutiara are expected to sail on sameday afternoon.

Four ships C.V Al-Rwdah, C.V Washington, M.T Han Zheng and M.V Chemroad Lily carrying container, project cargo and phosphoric acid are expected to move on Monday while two more ships C.V Maers Columbus and C.V CMA CGM Amazon are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
