Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that the late Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi was a man of principle and added that his death had closed a chapter of pre-and post-partition politics in the area.
The premier expressed these views while attending the Soyem of veteran politician and ex-parliamentarian Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi here on Tuesday afternoon.
He said that late Abdul Hameed had never compromised on principles and always struggled with sincerity and devotion for the country and the province.
The prime minister was accompanied by federal ministers Faisal Saleh Hayat, Nouraiz Shakoor and Sindh chief minister Ali Mohammad Mehar. "No one can challenge his political wisdom and it is very difficult to bridge the gulf, created after the death of Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi," the prime minister remarked.
He hoped that the sons of late Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi would continue the politics with the same spirit as their late father.
Paying tributes to the late parliamentarian, the premier said Jatoi was an institution in himself.
Jamali said that he was in great shock when he got the sad news about the death of Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi.
Later, the prime minister expressed condolences with Federal Minister for Industries and Production Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi and MPA Sadaqat Ali Khan Jatoi, sons of late Abdul Hameed Khan Jatoi.
He also offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed for courage to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.
Besides a large number of notables, Sindh ministers Imtiaz Shaikh and Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, chief of Sindh National Front Mumtaz Bhutto were also present.
Later, Prime Minister Jamali left for Islamabad. Quran Khawani was largely attended by notables, politicians, friends and family members.
