PIA clarifies media reports

KARACHI: With reference to reports appearing in a section of media regarding alleged cancellation of the security pass of PIA's acting CEO, Bernd Hildenbrand, the airline's spokesperson has termed the news as `baseless and contrary to facts'.

In a clarification issued here on Saturday the spokesman of the national flag carrier pointed out that Hildenbrand's security clearance is pending and that he has been issued a temporary pass, enabling him to perform his duties, which is valid till the end of this month.

In case his security clearance is not received till then this pass would be renewed, the PIA spokesman added.
