ISLAMABAD: The growing number of Mobile Broadband users coupled with tremendous data hungry mobile and web apps has supplemented the internet bandwidth consumption which reached 30,149 terabyets or 30.14 Petabytes of data during April 2016 only.
This was almost 30 per cent increase in data usage since last six month only.
As per presentation of a senior official of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the data usage has reached its next highest level and thanks to 3G and 4G users in Pakistan which have crossed 28 million mark, indicating that some 22 percent of all mobile phone users in Pakistan are now on 3G/4G networks.
The 4G users are now consuming more data than 2G users, in fact average data consumed per user on 4G network is almost 7 times of a 3G user.
