FRANKFURT: German stocks opened around 3.0 percent higher on Tuesday following strong gains in Asia as investors became more confident European leaders will reach an agreement to contain the debt crisis.
The blue-chip DAX 30 index opened at 5,502.89 points, a gain of 157.33 points or 2.94 percent from Monday's close.
