Inflated electricity bills issued to flood-hit people

BADIN: Instead of providing any relief to the flood-affected people of Badin district, the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has put unfair burden on them by issuing inflated electricity bills.

The affected people said that the meter readers of HESCO didn’t visit for taking the reading during all that period of monsoon rains and prepared bills sitting at their offices.

They said that most of the time during the rains there was no electricity in the entire district and also most of the people had to shift to safer places locking their submerged houses but despite that the bills contain huge amounts, which the affected people are unable to pay.
