imageISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has said that the government has achieved its targets of revenue collection till the third quarter of current fiscal year.

Talking to a private news channel he said total collection has witnessed about 20 percent growth rate in the nine months.

He said the government collected Rs. 297 billion revenue against the set target of Rs.230 billion from the month of January to March this year which reflects sincere measures being taken in the sector.

The minister said special privileges have also been reduced which were being enjoyed by the elite class of the country.

The reduction has also added sufficient amount of revenue to the treasure.

Ishaq Dar said that some reforms in laws of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) were also introduced which have helped in raising tax collection.

He said that the huge funds have been allocated for infrastructure development projects in the country.

Maximum relief would be given to the masses in upcoming budget, he added.
