PMTA to run new buses on metro feeder routes

imageLAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over the 8th meeting of Punjab Mass Transit Authority here on Friday, which decided to ply new buses on the feeder routes of Lahore, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus projects.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister (CM said new buses will also ply on the feeder routes of Multan Metro Bus Project after its completion.

He said auto fare system will be introduced on the buses to be plied on feeder routes. Shehbaz Sharif said modern Metro Bus System resulted in best and economical transport facilities to the masses.

The CM said that Orange Line Metro Train was a glorious project of the Punjab government and its completion will result in availability of respectable, speedy and comfortable transport facilities to the common man.

He said that Orange Line Metro Train Project will be a masterpiece of transparency, standard and architecture. He said that provision of the modern, safe and economical transport facilities to the citizens was the agenda of the government and it introduced the culture of saving of billions of rupees in the projects.

The meeting also gave approval of important matters relating to Orange Line Train and Metro Bus System.

MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority gave a briefing on these projects.

Chairman Lahore Transport Company Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad, Member National Assembly Malik Ibrar Ahmed, Members Provincial Assembly Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Sh. Allauddin, Kh. Imran Nazir, Kh. Ahmad Hasaan, former MNA Hanif Abbasi, Vice Chairman PHA Iftikhar Ahmad, MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority Sibtain Fazl-e-Haleem, Secretary Transport, Commissioner Lahore Division and concerned authorities also attended the meeting.
