LONDON: Europe's main stock markets were steady in initial trading on Friday, at the end of another volatile week for equities.
London's FTSE 100 benchmark index gained 0.1 percent to 5,903.5 points compared with Thursday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index fell 0.2 percent to 9,375.3 points and the Paris CAC 40 climbed 0.2 percent to 4,236.1.
