ISLAMABAD: Exports of medical goods and surgical instruments grew by 7.27 percent during the month of December, 2015 as compared to the same month of last financial year.
During last month surgical goods and medical instruments worth US$ 31.92 million were exported as compared to the exports of US$ 29.780 million of same month of last financial year, said data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Meanwhile, during the period from July-December, 2015, medical goods and surgical instruments witnessed 4.38 percent increase in their exports as compared to the same period of last financial year.
According the data exports of above mentioned goods were recorded at US$ 168.766 million during first half of last financial year.
During the period under review, about 1,469 metric tons of onyx manufactured worth US$ 2.815 million exported as compared to the exports of 1,388 metric tons valuing US$ 3.409 million of same period last year, it added.
The export of onyx manufactured witnessed 11.91 percent increase in first two-quarters of current financial year as compared to same period of last year, the data reveled, the data reveled.
During the month of December, 2015, country earned US$ 6.430 million by exporting the different types of cutlery goods as compared to the earnings of US$ 5.742 million of November, 2015, it added.
However, during first half of current financial year, other chemicals exports decreased by 21.95 percent as went down from US$ 266.305 million of first six months of last year to US$ 207.859 million in the same period of current financial year, the data reveled.
