LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said the government was committed and striving hard to fully overcome the energy crisis.
Talking to elected representatives,he said sincere efforts were being made to mitigate power shortage. He said thousands of Mega Watt (MW) power would be added to the national grid by the end on 2017. "Several coal-based and solar powered projects are either in pipeline or on the floors in the province," he added.
The Chief Minister said that projects which would run on gas were initiated in Jhang,Sheikhupura and Balloki. He said a coal-powered project was undergoing speedy construction in Sahiwal.
"A total of 1,320 MW power will be produced through the Sahiwal project", he mentioned. Shehbaz Sharif said the country,under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, is progressing fast and is well on the way of development and prosperity. He added that the struggle would continue to make Pakistan an economically developed country.
