imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed bail plea of Zia Ullah Afridi former provincial minister of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and directed the National Accountability Bureau to continue proceedings against the former provincial minister.

The two-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the bail plea of Zia Ullah Afridi against the decision of Peshawar High Court.

During the course of proceedings, Akram Sheikh counsel for Zia Ullah Afridi informed the court that NAB had no solid evidence against his client. He said that NAB could not file reference against his client after passage of 145 days.

He pleaded the court to accept his client's bail plea and also restrain NAB authorities from further proceedings against his client.

The Prosecutor General Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa told the bench that the former provincial minister awarder out of turn mineral land lease contract and statements of Director Mineral Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa were also on record.

He said that NAB was collecting evidences against the former provincial minister.

The bench after hearing the arguments dismissed bail plea of Zia Ullah Afridi.
