imageKARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan here on Thursday said measures adopted under National Action Plan (NAP) have tremendously improved law and order situation across the country.

Talking to a delegation comprising participants of National Security and War course of National Defence University, that called on him at Governor House, he said efforts are also underway to sustain this improvement.

This is prerequisite to promote economic activities on sound grounds, said the Governor of Sindh.

Reiterating that operation initiated against criminals and terrorists have started producing desired results, he said the inhabitants of Karachi are particularly indebted to the law enforcing agencies of the country.

In reply to a question by the members of the delegation, Sindh Governor said role of Police can also not be ignored and for the very purpose utmost attention is being paid towards their capacity building.

Fresh induction in police force across the province, including Karachi, is being made after proper investigations of the candidates with due care to help them groomed as a modern day police men capable to handle modern day policing challenges.

To another query, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan said equal attention is being paid towards capacity building of the prosecutors so that unscrupulous elements may not go scot-free and brought to task.

He on the occasion reiterated that the current operation is not against any particular group.

Later insignia of Sindh Governor House was presented to the head of the delegation.
