ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country on Thursday dropped to 3,175 from 4,059 MW as the total power generation was recorded as 14,320 MW against the demand of 17,495 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to a briefing on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 5,749 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,854 MW, IPPs 6,523 MW and rental 194 MW.
As many as 680 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report added.
Water level at Tarbela and Mangla dams was recorded as 1546.40 feet and 1203.45 feet with water discharge of 152,600 and 10,000 cusecs respectively.
The power demand has also reduced owing to the recent monsoon spell.
