imageISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman has said that the formation of Electoral Reforms Committee (ERC) and implementation on National Action Plan (NAP) were great achievements of PML-N government.

The electoral reforms committee was constituted on the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to bring more transparency in the elections, she said this while talking to a news channel.

Anusha Rehman, who is also a member of electoral reforms committee said the elections 2013 were held in free, fair and transparent manner.

The minister said, "We asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to point out the problems which they faced in the last elections such as printing press and biometric verification to bring improvement in the electoral system."

She urged the ECP to introduce biometrics system during the upcoming elections. She also urged the equal representation of women in the parliament.

To a question, the minister said the government has taken all the decisions with the consultation of major political parties.

PPP Senator Saeed Ghani said that he is in favour of electoral reforms to improve the electoral system in the country.
