 ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country on Saturday again jumped to 3,569 MW from 2,443 MW as the total power generation was recorded as 14,911 MW against the demand of 18,480 MW during the last 24 hours.

According to a briefing on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 6,107 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,817 MW, IPPs 6,107 MW and rental 154 MW.

As many as 680 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report added.

Water level at Tarbela and Mangla dams was recorded as 1538.68 feet and 1202.10 feet with water discharge of 80,000 and 13,000 cusecs respectively.

The hydel generation witnessed significantly increase and stood at 6,107 MW owing to increase water inflow in rivers.
