An official said here on Thursday that he made the offer in a meeting with KCCI's Advisor for Banking/Insurance/CSR Sub-Committee, Ateequr Rehman, who called on him at his office in SSUET.

`We want to make youth as entrepreneurs to make them best part of the society', he told the Chancellor while outlining KCCI's objectives in the field of education.

He was of the view that this would greatly help the youth who do not get job in view of growing unemployment.

The KCCI's Advisor specially referred to SSUET students who, he said, performed a feat by developing a solar energy-run car which was exhibited at the Education Pavilion of My Karachi Exhibition held at Expo Center and called for close coordination between KCCI and SSUET to produce more better results.

`It has made us to feel proud of the students of this University' Ateeq told Chancellor Nizami and said that the Chamber will take initiatives to get such things sponsored from philanthropists and multi-national companies.

Nizami said that in order to achieve the outlying objectives as are being persuaded by KCCI, the University is carrying out special courses for its students.

The Chancellor assured that the University will provide full facilities in this regard. He pointed out that to promote engineering education; this university is being run on no profit no loss basis.

Ateeq reassured that Karachi Chamber will leave no stone unturned in encouraging the students having qualities of enterpreneuship. He was of the view that KCCI is the world's 8th biggest chamber and equalizes the country's 47 chambers.

Emphasizing that KCCI wants to do everything possible for the youth, the Advisor sought a list of projects developed by SSUET students to get sponsors for them. He said if this list is provided to them by the middle of September, the Chamber will start having sponsorship for these projects by October.

He said the Chamber will hold a Sir Syed Day at Karachi University where creative students will be presented awards. He said the Chamber will help students entering the field of entrepreneurship in getting loans from the banks.

`Our objective is to stall the flight of our talent from the country and help them establish and stand at their own feet within the country', he stated.

Nizami informed that SSUET is specially focusing on the aspect of `counselling' for its students and in this regard a number of seminars and events are organized for them.

Ateeq also informed the Chancellor about their Thalassemia free Pakistan movement and said that a one-day seminar will be organized at SSUET to develop greater understanding and awareness among its students about this fatal disease.
