imagePakistani singer, Abrar ul Haq is all set to make his singing debut in India with a Punjabi film, ‘Ishq Mera Religion.’ The singer, who is known for his traditional sweet folk songs and vocals, will lend his voice for two songs. Earlier, Abrar ul Haq sang ‘Pani Da Bulbula’ for a Pakistani movie ‘Zinda Bhaag’.

According to local media reports, Pakistani lyricist S M Sadiq has said that, “The reason why we have gotten Abrar on board as playback singer is because he has the best folk voice in the country, which is popular among listeners of all ages. The two songs that he has recorded are sure to be quite popular among the audiences”. This is not the first time that the lyricist S M Sadiq is working with Pakistani singers for Indian films, earlier he also recorded tracks with Arif Lohar and Shaukat Ali.

Abrar-ul-Haq is one of those Pakistani pop singers who revolutionized Pakistani pop industry by their creativity and introducing new trends in music industry. He made the Punjabi music lovers crazy with his songs sung in colloquial tone and lyrics. His famous numbers are ‘Preeto’, Nach Majajan’, ‘GT Road’, Beja Cycle Tey’, etc. But the song, which brought him a prominent place among leading pop singers of the era was his debut song ‘Billo’.

Apart from Abrar ul Haq, the legendary singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has also lend his vocals for two songs in ‘Ishq Mera Religion.’
