imageBollywood actor Salman Khan appeared in Court in Jodhpur in connection with the Arms Act over the shooting of some endangered animal in 1998. He got confused when a judge in Jodhpur asked him on Wednesday about his caste, but he quickly gathered his wits and replied that he is both ‘Hindu and a Muslim’.

According to Indian media reports, the actor appeared in the court to record his statement in the case. As part of the process, Khan was required to answer questions about his father’s name, profession and caste. Salman answered everything, but he got confused when the court asked about his caste.

The actor then said he was both Hindu and Muslim. “My father is Muslim and my mother is Hindu”, Khan said, speaking in Hindi.

Salman Khan was in court to plead ‘not guilty’ in the Arms Act case related to the alleged poaching of a black buck. The court fixed May 4 as the date for the next hearing.
