imageClint Eastwood directed movie ' American Sniper' has grossed $500 million globally and has become the highest grossing film of 2014 after beating 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I'.

According to Indian media reports, the movie cashed-in 337.2 million dollars domestically, with 163 million dollars internationally as it got released on more than 4,900 screens in 57 markets. The Bradley Cooper starrer film has earned 20.5 million dollars in the UK, 15.1 million dollars in Australia, topped with 16.8 million dollars in France whereas scored second position with 12.2 million dollars in Japan.

The film is based on the best-selling autobiography of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, an ‘American sniper’. The film directed by Clint Eastwood and scripted by Paranoia's Jason Hall.

This military action thriller film has become the biggest debut for Eastwood ever and went on to become the director's top title of all time.
