LAHORE: Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) here Wednesday clarified that bank account of Dasu Hydropower Project has already been opened.
The WAPDA spokesperson strongly refuted a media report stating Dasu project's bank account had not been opened so far that could delay implementation of the project.
The spokesperson clarified that news item was contrary to the fact because the bank account for Dasu Hydropower Project had already been opened. Dasu Hydropower Project was an important project keeping in view increasing demands of electricity in the country and WAPDA was advancing the project on priority, he added.
The WAPDA Chairman also directed Member (Water) to hold an inquiry into the matter and submit a preliminary report in three days positively, said the spokesperson.
