ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 3.4 kg heroin, 13.2 kg charas and 320 grams ice (methamphetamine), arresting nine drug smugglers including a foreigner.
ANF teams conducted seven operations in various cities Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi, said a press release.
The recovered drugs approximately worth of Rs. 36.8 million in the international market. Most of the recovered drugs were destined for abroad.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi Airport team detained a suspected passenger namely Rora Khan, a resident of Lahore at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad and recovered 2 kgs heroin from his trolley bag. The accused intended to a flight for Jeddah by Air Blue Flight.
Similarly ANF team apprehended a Nigerian national namely Joshua Godwin Kalu from the Airport, on suspicion of ingested Heroin filled capsules.
During interrogation, he confessed of having heroin filled capsules in his abdomen. On his body search, 3 heroin filled capsules were also recovered from him. He was to fly for Ghana via Dubai by a Shaheen Airline Flight. The accused was shifted to Benazir Shaheed Hospital for the recovery of heroin capsules.
The ANF team during routine checking on GT Road, Attock, recovered 6 kg charas from an accused woman namely Bakhat Mina, a resident of Peshawar.
ANF Lahore airport team, held 2 suspected passengers Nazim and Shahid Hussain, both residents of Karachi at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
During search of their luggage, 1.4 kg heroin was recovered, the Heroin was concealed in packs of Paan Masala. They intended to take off for Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight.
ANF Peshawar Airport team during routine checking at Peshawar Airport, arrested an accused Nasar Minallah, a resident of Charsadah, who confessed of having gulped Heroin filled capsules. The accused passenger was to fly for Jeddah.
ANF Peshawar road check team, intercepted 2 accused namely Ashiq Ali, resident of Orakzai Agency and Sajid Ali, resident of Kohat along with 7.2 kg charas. Charas was wrapped around the body of the accused. They were taken into custody at road check near Kalaya Petrol Pump, Hangu Road Kohat. They were trying to smuggle the drug to Punjab.
ANF Karachi Airport team during routine profiling at Jinnah International Airport, arrested a passenger namely Muhammad Shehzad, resident of Bahawalpur and recovered 320 grams of ice from his possession. Ice was concealed in 2 packets of Tooth Pastes. He was boarding a Gulf Airline.
Cases have been registered against all detainees and further investigations are under process.
