The beginning of the most renowned and prestigious event in the cricketing world is just a couple of days away. The opening ceremony of the massive event is scheduled for 12th February 2015 in Melbourne.
Organizers hope that the opening night will win over their audience due to the presence of Jessica Hilda Mauboy an Australian R&B and pop singer, Tina Arena, an Australian singer-songwriter, Nathaniel and Daryl Braithwaite, along with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with Musical Director, Chong Lim.
According to foreign media reports, Jessica Hilda Mauboy said, "It is a privilege to welcome the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 to Melbourne and Australia by performing at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for the Opening Event in front of a number of teams, including Australia and England before their big opening match”.
Minister for tourism John Eren said while talking to media, "The ICC Cricket World Cup is returning to Australia for the first time in 23 years and Melbourne is truly honored to host the Opening Event,"
This event is big not only for Australia but for New Zealand as well, since they both are the co-hosts of the upcoming World Cup 2015.
