Port QasimKARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berth at QICT and LCT Terminals respectively on Wednesday, August 3. Meanwhile four more ship scheduled to load/offload containers, corn and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 55 percent at the Port on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely Rhl Fiducia, CGM Verdi, Pago, Alaska II, Hai Yu, Sealion and Ginga Bobcat are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 81,223 tonnes comprising 68,128 tonnes imports and 13,090 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2235 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

MV Sealion sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while CGM Verdi, Nexoe Maersk and Ginga Bobcat will sail today later.

Four ships M.V Nexoe Maersk, Glory, New Sun and AI Salam II carrying containers Com and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP and FOTCO, terminals on Thursday, August 4.
