Kareena has not converted to Islam after marriage; Saif Ali Khan

Actor Saif Ali Khan has finally opened up about the latest love jihad controversy revolving around his celebrity wife Kareena Kapoor Khan.

He said, “People say she has converted. No, she hasn’t. These talks emotionally, intellectually and socially do not feature in our lives anywhere. The character, wisdom and intellect of such sources should be considered before taking them seriously,” Hindustan Times reported.

“The country should be proud of Kareena’s contribution to cinema and society. She has worked for women’s rights and better health. She should be celebrated as a symbol of a strong, modern individual,” he added.

Saif Ali Khan criticizes ‘Love Jihad’ campaign calling it regrettable.

‘Love jihad’ is an alleged activity under which young Muslim boys and men reportedly target young girls belonging to non-Muslim communities for conversion to Islam by feigning love. A morphed picture of Kareena Kapoor was splashed on a religious group’s magazine cover as a warning against ‘love jihad’, the actress is said to have beefed up her personal security after that.
