imageKARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has approved the proposal for establishing police emergency service "921" in the metropolis.

In this regard the chief minister has put the Muhafiz Force, Madagar 15, Madadgar 15 Call Centers, Central Command & Control Centre, complete premises of Hassan Square Police Headquarters and Chowkundi Police Headquarters on the disposal of AIG Security for this purpose.

The decision was taken in the meeting chaired by the chief minister here on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, PPP leader Sherry Rehman, Principal Secretary to CM Alamuddin Bullo, Home Secretary Abdul Rahim Soomro, IG Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali, Additional IG Karchi Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput, AIG Security and Commandant SBB Elite Police Training Centre Razakabad Maqsood Ahmed, SP Muzaffar Iqbal of SSU and others.

The AIG Security briefed the meeting about the present status of different wings of police working for emergency help and complaints of the citizens.

He suggested that the building of Chowkundi Police Headquarters located at National Highway may also be given to AIG Security to establish "921" police emergency services which would serve as a one window service centre for quick response of police such as ambulance service, fire tender service, electricity and SSG complaints and civic problems. "This mode of services will be public welfare oriented", he added.

The chief minister approved the proposals submitted by AIG Security for establishing the centralized police emergency service and directed Home Department and IGP Sindh to complete all the legal formalities and hand over the facilities at the earliest.
