imageFormer Miss World Aishwarya Rai is happy from the decision to let go of the bikini round from the competition. She also admits that in 1994, when she had won the crown, she herself did not have the fittest beach body.

In December 2014, Julia Morley, chairwoman of the Miss World contest, announced their decision about the exclusion of the bikini round, saying that ‘it doesn’t do anything for the woman. And it doesn’t do anything for any of us’.

According to Indian media reports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said, “When I became Miss Word, I was definitely not the best beach body of all the 87 contestants. I can vouch for it, I can put a stamp on it. And yet I won the title. People believe that this (swimwear round) is an imperative round and this becomes the deciding factor. That’s not true”.

“Getting the ‘Miss Perfect 10’ title was not only about literally your physicality, it was all about how you presented yourself, your confidence and so much else that went with it,” she added.

Bollywood eternal beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has represented India on many platforms, after giving a short break to her career she will soon return to big screen with her upcoming movie ‘Jazbaa’.
