imagePESHAWAWAR: Following substantial decrease in prices of petroleum products announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Khyber Pakthunkhwa Government's Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) has reduced transport fare by 8 percent on all inter divisional routes to provide relief to people.

The Spokesman of PTA told APP on Friday that new price fare list has been issued with direction to the drivers and transporters to paste at prominent places in the vehicles and transport stands for facilitation of passengers and commuters.

The transport fare of Peshawar-Swat route has been reduced to 174 rupees from 187 rupees, Peshawar-Abbottabad route to Rs 195 from Rs. 210, Peshawar-Manshera route to Rs. 219 from Rs. 237, Peshawar-Timergara to Rs 179 to Rs 213 and Peshawar-DI Khan to Rs. 339 from Rs. 366 respectively.

The official said all the field inspectors have been directed to ensure implementation of the new price fare list and take strict action against the violators.

In addition to imposition of heavy fine, the violators would also be sent to jails as the Government would not allow overcharging from the passengers.
