COLOMBO: Bad weather has delayed the start of the first one-day international between England and Sri Lanka in Colombo on Wednesday.
The entire field at the Premadasa stadium was covered at the scheduled toss time of 2pm (0830 GMT) as the prevailing wet weather showed no signs of improving.
The teams are to play seven one-dayers in preparation for the World Cup that takes place in Australia and New Zealand in February-March.
