LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that China is a sincere friend of Pakistan which realizes the problems of Pakistani people and is ready to impart training to doctors and paramedics of Punjab.
He was speaking at the signing ceremony of an agreement between China and Punjab regarding training of doctors and paramedical staff in Beijing on Tuesday.
He said, under the agreement, doctors and paramedics of Punjab would be imparted training in the best hospitals of China. The Chief Minister said that ongoing development projects in Pakistan under democratic government had full support and cooperation of the Chinese leadership.
He said the government and people of China wanted to see Pakistan moving towards the goal of progress and prosperity without any hurdle. He said that China had given the biggest development package to Pakistan of its history and Pakistani leadership through its implementation would come up to the expectations of China despite local and international problems.
Earlier, giving details of the agreement, Chairperson of Chinese Foundation for Cultural Heritage Geng Ying told that under the three years agreement, China would pay all expenses on the travel, accommodation, food and other facilities to the Pakistani doctors coming for training. She said that besides training in emergency and administrative matters, the doctors and concerned staff would also be trained in acupuncture.
Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif thanked Chinese government over the agreement for the training of doctors and paramedical staff in the best hospitals of China and said that this offer would greatly help in improving healthcare system in Punjab.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Maalik are leading the delegation.
