BULAWAYO: Zimbabwe made an alteration to both their batting and bowling departments as they sought to be more competitive in the second of three one-day internationals against South Africa on Tuesday.
Having lost the first ODI by 93 runs on Sunday, the hosts dropped opening batsman Vusimuzi Sibanda and seamer Shingirai Masakadza and brought in Sikander Raza Butt and Brian Vitori.
While Raza was returning from a fractured thumb that kept him out of the Test match against South Africa, Vitori was picked after recovering from an injury sustained in a car accident.
Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura won the toss and elected to bowl first - a decision which would not have concerned his opposite number AB de Villiers, who confirmed an unchanged side.
The South African captain suggested after the first ODI that he preferred to bat first on the dry surfaces anyway, and his team were given first use of an abrasive-looking pitch under sunny skies on Tuesday.
