ISLAMABAD: Legendary batsman Javed Miandad expected the Pakistan Super League (PSL) should be held in Pakistan, as in the years to come it can attract a lot of players once it is leashed.
While, responding to an statement made by the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that all the ground work has been made for the PSL and it will be launched in January next year in the UAE, Miandad talking to APP said the PSL should be played in Pakistan as it is our own league and to play it in UAE will not end the country's drought of international cricket.
"At least the PCB should take the initiative and see how it goes in Pakistan. I am sure once the league starts it will attract a lot of foreign players who are retired or domestic players of other countries," he pointed.
The former PCB Director General said we can interact our domestic players with the national team players with the help of PSL which will boost their morale and give them the confidence of how to tackle and play with international players. "Our national team players are no lesser than other players and they can help boost the domestic players confidence," he said.
Speaking about the PCB to generate bumper revenue from the six bilateral series to take place between Pakistan and India in the years to come, Miandad said if it happens it will be very good but it's not the money that people want to see its cricket between Pakistan and India what's the dire need of the hour.
Talking about Pakistan Cricket, Miandad said a cricket committee should be made comprising of former cricketers as it was in the previous chairman's tenure for the betterment of cricket. "I used to head the committee in the previous chairman's tenure and it proved very beneficial," he said adding he can fix Pakistan cricket in six months.
Miandad said he has also given a formula to PCB Chairman Najam Sethi of how to bring Pakistan Cricket on track.
