Polish engineers call on Saad Rafique

imageLAHORE: Polish engineers expressed their interest in working in several areas of the Pakistan Railways in a meeting with federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique held at PR headquarters here on Friday.

The minister assured cooperation of the government and the department to the delegation and said it would welcome any company that wanted to work for its modernisation.

The Polish delegation showed their interest especially in rehabilitation and modernisation of out-of-order locomotives, transportation of coal to energy projects and repairing of traction motors.

In the initial meeting with the Polish engineers, Khawaja asked them to arrange a detailed visit to the department so that they could develop a better understanding of it.

The minister directed the PR administration to provide all related documents to the engineers in a week and also said the embassy of Pakistan in Poland and Pakistan foreign office would soon be directed to cooperate with the Polish engineers.

The Polish delegation comprised of engineers of Newag Group Poland led by Chief Executive and President of the board Zbigniew Konieczk and EuroAsia Company led by Chief Executive Agnieszk H Khan.

PR General Manager Operation Anjum Pervaiz, PR GM Maintenance Asad Ehsaan, AGM Traffic Javaid Anwar Boobak, AGM Mechanical Rana Ibrar and Chief Engineer Locomotives Tariq Khan were also present.

Later, the delegation visited the locomotive workshop in Mughalpura.
