imageLAHORE: National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) on Wednesday announced to provide its VERISYS system to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry to facilitate its members.

The announcement was made by the Director General NADRA, Brigadier Muhammad Javaid Iqbal Khan during a visit to the LCCI.

He said that NADRA was one of the leading System Integrators in the global identification sector and boasted extensive experience in designing, implementing and operating solutions for corporate and public sector clients.

NADRA offers its clients a portfolio of customizable solutions for identification, e-governance and secure documents, he added.

The Authority, he said, had successfully implemented the Multi-Biometric National Identity Card and Multi-Biometric e-Passport solutions for Pakistan, Passport Issuing System for Kenya, Bangladesh High Security Driver's License, and Civil Registration Management System for Sudan amongst other projects.

Brigadier Javaid Iqbal said the NADRA set out on the journey of Civil Registration of all Pakitanis in March 2000 and in a short span of time NADRA's team indigenously created a state of the art centralized Data Warehouse, Network Infrastructure and Interactive Data Acquisition Systems to issue secure Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC). He also promised to provide NADRA mobile facility to the Lahore Chamber for its members.

While LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari said the LCCI being the fostering body of business and trade in the country had always played a vital role in facilitating the business community and taking all such measures which would reduce bottlenecks for smooth sail of trade and commerce.

With the installation of VERISYS system, he said that if a Help Desk of NADRA was opened at Lahore Chamber, it would be a great facilitation for the LCCI members as well as the entire business community.

Lashari highlighted the need for having a NADRA Desk at the Lahore Chamber and said it would largely faciliated more than 18000 LCCI members.

The Chamber's SVP Mian Tariq Misbah and VP Kashif Anwar also spoke on the occasion.
