shahid-khan-afridiKARACHI: Former one-day captain Shahid Khan Afridi was fined 4.5 million rupees ($52,000) on Thursday for breaching the Pakistan cricket board code of conduct but cleared to play for Hampshire in the English domestic Twenty20 league.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi told Reuters Afridi had been fined after pleading guilty to charges of breaching the code of conduct.

Rizvi said the board would, however, reinstate the no objection certificate clearing Afridi to play for Hampshire which had been revoked for breaching the code of conduct.

Afridi who announced his retirement from international cricket last month, told reporters he no intention at present of changing his mind.

"At the moment I am not interested in playing international cricket but I will be playing for Hampshire," he said.
