imageISLAMABAD: Twelve Pakistani Arabic calligraphists will display their work and conduct workshops in Jeddah from May 1 to 4.

The "Beauty of the Message" event will be held at the Red Sea Mall, which will be organized jointly by the Pakistani Consulate and the World Muslim Congress (WMC).

Individuals wanting to learn the art of Arabic Islamic calligraphy can attend the free workshops, The Arab News Reported.

Abdullah Omar Nasseef, president of the WMC, said the Pakistani artists are known for their creativity.

He said the exhibition would highlight the friendship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Pakistan Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khokhar said that the purpose of the exhibition was to highlight the close cultural and religious ties between the two countries.

He said the work of Pakistani artists and artisans are mature and confident, and they have also exhibited a willingness to innovate and experiment. With their exposure to new ideas and movements, their ability to synthesize and improvise has led to a variety of works, he said.

The Pakistani artists to participate in the event are Iqbal Ibn-e-Kaleem, Irfan Ahmed Khan, Mehmood Anjum, Malik Muhammad, Abdul Rehman, Mahmood Nasir, Ashraf Muhammed, Rasheed Abdul, Hassan Muhammad, Razzaq Abdul, Lashari Maqsood Ali and Qudoos Mussarat.
