ISLAMABAD: Capt. Qasim Hayat, has been appointed new Director Flight Operation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday.
The appointment was made by the selection committee headed by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Aviation and the other members being Secretary Aviation/Chairman PIA, Director General Civil Aviation Authority, official sources said on Friday.
With the sole objective of reviving the national flag carrier under the guidelines of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, a transparent process was adopted to select a new Director Flight Operations of PIA.
Fifteen senior pilots were called for initial interviews, out of which three were short listed.
They were called upon to give a detailed professional presentation on how would they help to revive the airline.
