imageQUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch Monday emphasized on Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) and Gas authorities to adopt people friendly attitude and address complaints of people on priority basis.

Expressing regret over load-shedding and low pressure of gas in Quetta city and other parts of the province in sub-zero temperature, he directed QESCO and Gas authorities for taking result- oriented measures to end load-shedding and low gas pressure.

The Chief Minister took serious notice of load-shedding and low gas pressure in Quetta and other parts of the province where temperature has dropped to -13 C and summoned QESCO Chief Baleegh-ul-Zaman and Managing Director Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Haroon Rasheed at chief minister's secretariat, here on Monday.

Provincial Minister for S&GAD Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwai was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister directed QESCO and SSGC to pay heed towards the problems of people and take practical steps for their resolution.

He said that gas authorities should have known that with dropping of temperature the demand of gas would increase and steps should have been taken in this regard.

He lamented that in winter there was gas crisis and in summer load-shedding that had increased the difficulties of people.

He directed that proper supply of gas and electricity should be ensured, adding that action would be taken if the electricity and gas crises were not addressed.

On the occasion, SSGC officials assured chief minister that gas pressure would be improved till night.

The Chief Minister also directed for addressing the complaints of people regarding provision of electricity and gas in other towns of the province, including Mustung, Kalat, Ziarat and Pishin.
