imageLAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday directed law enforcement agencies to adopt foolproof security measures for peaceful Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).

Talking to elected representatives, he said, the country was experiencing serious challenges of terrorism and extremism and there was greater need of unity and solidarity at this crucial juncture.

He said, all law enforcing agencies had already been put on red alert to cope with any eventuality. He said, four tiers security cordon must be ensured around processions and Majalis.

The Chief Minister said that he had ordered law-enforcing agencies to conduct search operations in hotels, guest houses and inns before Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).

He urged the elected representatives to become a supportive hand to the police and departments responsible for maintaining law and order situation on the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
