TOKYO: The dollar rose to a six-month high against the yen on Monday in Asian trading as market participants tested the greenback's upside after speculators had bet on further dollar gains.
The dollar rose as high as 101.73 yen on the EBS trading platform, its highest since May 30.
Data released last week showed currency speculators increased net short positions in the Japanese currency to the most in six years.
