imageLAHORE: Registrar Lahore High Court (LHC), Sardar Ahmed Naeem Tuesday presented a cheque amounting to Rs 640,000 to Major Ijaz Ahmad Cheema, a representative of the Pakistan Army contingent tasked with the earthquake rehabilitation work in the province of Balochistan.

In addition to it, all the functionaries in judicial hierarchy of the province had also contributed one day salary to the Government Relief Fund.

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial had established "Lahore High Court Relief Fund" for the affectees of Awaran earthquake.

In a communique issued by the Registrar to sensitize the issue, it was observed that the recent severe earthquake has left our so many Baloch brethren shelterless and homeless.

As a result of this natural calamity, each affectee is indeed, in dire need of basic necessities of life for survival.

Employees, officers and Judges rose to the occasion and contributed for the much needed rehabilitation work for the earthquake stricken people of Balochistan.

LHC intended to help the quake survivors through Balochistan High Court but no relief fund account was available with the later.
