imageAccording to English media reports international sports superstar David Beckham and former fashion icon Victoria Beckham have sold Beckingham Palace and a fleet of cars for $19million to bid for $70million mansion home in Hertfordshire, London.

It seems the palace will not be passed down to generations as the couple is reportedly pooling the cash from the property and their luxury cars, to buy a mansion in central London.

A source told media outlets “David in particular was desperately sad to sell the family home as their are so many memories there. They have had years of happiness in the home, but practically now there is no need to keep it.”

Former footballer reportedly earned a profit of $ 15 million from the sale of 12-acre estate in Hertfordshire, which he bought for $4 million just 3 month after tying the knot with former spice girl. The price reportedly includes several sports cars including Beckham’s favorite Ferraris and two jaguars and the family’s holiday home in France worth over $4.1 million.

The couple with their three sons Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David and one daughter Harper Seven has reportedly been staying in country’s mansion since returning from Los Angeles after Beckham’s contract with LA Galaxy came to an end.

The new mansion which the 38-year-old Beckham has eye on is a four-storey west London property, which he hopes award winning British chef Gordon Ramsay will design a five star kitchen for.

''The Beckhams love both England and LA. They want the Californian sunshine for the kids but the education system of the UK - so they're getting the best of both worlds”, a source told media.

''It's an exciting time for the Beckhams as they enter a new chapter of family life.''
