imageKARACHI: Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram has rated West Indies a tough and dangerous customer for Pakistan in their opening group "B" match to be staged at the Oval on Friday.

"West Indies got great cricketers in Gayle, Bravos, Pollard and they may offer a great challenge to Pakistan", he told a private TV Channel on Tuesday night.

"It will be an interesting game and I am expecting good fight between two teams", he said. "They also got Sunil Narine" he added.

Besides these top players, the team from Caribbean Islands got all-rounders Marlon Samuels and captain Darren Sammy.

Legendary batsman Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dyawne Bravo landed in England after outstanding performances in match- fixing tainted Indian Premier League.

He said Pakistan batsmen's will be a key role because they got good bowling attack in pace and spin.

Pace duo of Junaid Khan, Muhammad Irfan could play a key role while Wahab Riaz and Asad Ali are also in contention.

"Saeed Ajmal would be Pakistan's trump card and his role will be crucial", he said.

Another Test captain Rashid Latif warned Misbah- ul-Haq's team to be beware of the West Indies.

"West Indies at the moment are a well balanced combination and they would offer Pakistan a stiff challenge", he reamrked.

"Like Pakistan, West Indies is also a very unpredictable team. I think it will be a close game", he commented.

Rashid Latif however said if Pakistan batsmen played with their full potential they can topple the West Indies.
