KARACHI: Three ships C.V Maersk Denver, M.V Liberty Grace and M.V Feng Hai-II carrying containers, wheat and rice were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Grain & Fertilizer Terminal respectively during the last 24 hours, port sources said here Monday.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 50% on Sunday where seven ships namely C.V MSC Didem, C.V Maersk Denver, M.V Nordic Tianjin, M.V Bella-L, M.V Liberty Grace, M.V Feng Hai-II and M.T Al- Salam-II occupied the berths to load/ offload containers, rice, wheat and chemicals during the last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during the last 24 hours stood at 90,633 tonnes, comprising 79322 tonnes imports and 11,311 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,215 containers (1,740 imports and 475 exports TEUs).
Containers vessel 'MSC Didem' sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships C.V Maersk Denver and M.V Feng Hai-II are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Two ships C.V Nysted Maersk and C.V Hust Point scheduled to load/ offlaod containers are expected to take berths at container Terminal on May 13, thhe port sources further said.
