KARACHI: Bradley Cooper (“The Hangover”) and Liam Neeson (“Taken”) have filed a lawsuit against two home theater companies who allegedly used their pictures without asking for permission.
The ads by Vutec Corp. (video projection screen technology manufacturer) and First Impressions Theme Theaters use stills from their 2010 film “The A-Team.” The stills have reportedly been used not only on full-page ads, but also on websites and additional promotional materials.
In a lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, the Hollywood stars allegedly claim this is a violation of their rights of privacy and publicity, and is also trademark infringement.
We wonder why the companies didn’t use stills from the Oscar-nominees’ more recent films like Cooper’s “Silver Linings Playbook” or Neeson’s “Batman Begins.”
