KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours, where three ships carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Terminal, port sources said on Tuesday.
Three more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers, rice, diesel oil and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 45% at the Port on Tuesday where total number of five ships namely Maersk Phuket, CGM Debussy, Sun Bright, Al Salam II and Maritime Vanessia are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, rice, diesel oil and edible oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 53864 tonnes comprising 39247 tonnes imports and 14617 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1559 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during the last 24 hours.
