KARACHI: Owing to a blast in the Sui Southern Gas Company's (SSGC) 16 inch dia Indus Right Bank Pipeline (IRBP) due to a sabotage activity at 35 kms from Sui to Pat Feeder on Saturday night, there has been a shortage of gas supply.
The Media Manager of SSGC, Inayatullah Ismail here on Sunday that the SSGC is trying to make alternative arrangements to meet the shortage of gas supply.
The pipeline was carrying 110 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) gas from Sui to Karachi, he added.
As a result the gas supply to the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), WAPDA and Fauji Fertilizer has been curtailed, the SSGC official added.
He further pointed out that the repair work is being carried out at the site of the rupture.
