Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships carrying containers and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Wednesday, port sources said here Thursday.

Four more ships carrying containers, chemical and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 45% at the port on Thursday where a total five ships, CGM Verdi, Aurora SB, Ardmore Calypso, Bunga Azalea and Liberty - N are currently occupying berths.

A cargo volume of 39,421 tonnes comprising 24,029 tonnes imports and 15,392 tonnes export inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 881 containers (TEUs) was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.
