KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the port where three Ships carrying containers, edible oil and boutumen were allotted berths at Port Qasim International Containers Terminal, LCT Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday, April 8.

Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and cement also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 64% on Friday where a total of seven ships namely, C.V. Glory, Warnow Sun, Orient III, Upper Court, Al Salam II, M.T Rdeim and Argent Bloom are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, iron ore, diesel oil, boutumen and respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at Port where a cargo volume of 51,633 tonnes, comprising 37,265 tonnes imports and 14,368 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 988 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Containers ship Glory sailed out to sea on saturday morning, while one more diesel oil ship Al Salam II Is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Two ships MSC. Magali and Wales II scheduled to load/offload containers and cement are expected to take berth at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Saturday, April 9.
