KARACHI: Four ships carrying containers, cement, steel pipe and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Terminal during the last 24 hours, port sources said Tuesday.
Meanwhile five more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 55% at the Port on Tuesday where total number of six ships namely Hanjin Venezla, Asian Express, Tai Hawk V, Star Eracle, Liberty N and AL Salam II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, steel pipe, fertiliser, LPG mix and diesel oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 19668 tonnes comprising 19187 tonnes imports and 481 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 280 containers (Boxes) were handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
